Jim Wiser is a T.I.M.E. digital arts graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Art with an emphasis in level design and game environment art. Most of his work is focused on employing visual and cultural signifiers to convey information and narrative in the game world to minimize the need for unnecessary instruction or exposition.


Jim has been a member of several game development endeavors including iPhone and XNA game projects with students from CIA and Case Western Reserve University and worked at Sunken Coin Studios on Towers in Space! for the iPhone.  Currently, Jim is a graphic artist at MIM Software Inc. where he has produced visuals for MIM 5.1, MIMcloud 2.0, Mobile MIM, and VueMe.


Jim has been an active member of the Team Fortress 2 mapping community for several years. His BFA thesis project, Precipice investigated environmentally integrated wayfinding affordances aimed at helping players navigate unfamiliar environments more easily. He also recently developed an arctic theme for TF2 as part of his entry in the "artpass" competition.


Jim has been a member of the International Game Developer’s Association since 2008 and received a GDC scholarship in 2010.
